Outdoor Javelin Workout From Start to Finish - Drills, Hurdles, Throwing

I made this video to help you become a better (more informed) javelin thrower. As a former ACC (Division 1) track athlete - now turned professional - I found myself going to Youtube a lot when I was younger to help me along my athletic journey. As I've gotten older I wanted to return the favor. This video is for those of you who don't quite know where to start in your javelin journey. You don't know what specific javelin drills, exercises, or resistence training to do or even what warm up to perform. You are struggling with elbow pain or hip mobility because you don't know how to train/strengthen these areas. This video will help you with all of that, in addition to working on your technique and learning to guide the javelin.
You'll notice I use a finnflier and 600 gram jav in this video. The implement may vary depending on where you are in your training (400g, 600g, 800g, 900g). Also, the number of throws you take at practice may vary depending on how your body feels that day or what part of your season you are in (preseason, mid-season, Championship season). My advise is to always use your gut when it comes to throwing and listen to your body. Warming up and proper technique are keys to having longevity and pain free throwing in this sport - but even with that being said, having fun is also a crucial element too.
If you like this video please let me know and I'll make more. Also, I have some Youtube Shorts on my page to help with weight room specific javelin training. Thanks again for watching!
