Curling Drills - Balance: No "C"
Sports
Published on Apr 24, 2024
In this Curling Balance video, Competition Coach Matt Bean, Club Coach Josh Levy and Club Coach Marcelo Bassani de Freitas demonstrate a balance and line of delivery exercise called "No C."
In this drill, we set up two brooms beside the hack which aid in discovering the dreaded "C" that curlers tend to have in order to compensate for poor balance.
After a long summer it's good to work on your balance and line of delivery in order to get your "ice legs" back and reinforce your muscle memory. This "No C" drill helps in reinforcing the muscle memory of not bringing your slider foot behind the hack. As you will see in the video, it's easier said than done!
Matt Bean was Competition Coach trained in Ontario and later Certified as a Competition Coach in Québec. He currently curls out of the Royal Montreal Curling Club in Québec. Josh Levy is Club Coach trained and Marcelo BF is a 2nd year curler and soon to be Club Coach, both out of RMCC.
